I had a dream
About a creature
Starved of connection.
It was so lonely
That it tried
Desperately
To steal my affection.
But it couldn’t keep it.
And it burned
It’s soul.
And left it with
A pain so hollow
Like it had never
Known.
And from the bottom
Of its fractured heart
It cried.
Its voice so raw
And agonized.
It pleaded for an
End
To its endless night.
It begged of me,
“Please hold me,
Or else I die.”
